Nebraska Secretary of State Loses GOP Primary to Election Skeptic

Omaha businessman Scott Petersen defeated two-term Nebraska Secretary of State Bob Evnen in a Republican primary, winning 55% to 45% with nearly all votes counted, according to NBC News. Evnen had been endorsed by Gov. Jim Pillen and the state's entire congressional delegation; Rep. Don Bacon had called Petersen "the President of the TinFoil Hat Club" after Petersen posted that Nebraska's election system was "not fully verified, not fully inspected, and not held to modern standards."
