Mississippi, Georgia, and Louisiana have pulled back from the most aggressive post-ruling redistricting proposals, giving several Black Democratic incumbents a temporary reprieve, according to Axios. Said CBC Chair Yvette Clarke: as many as 19 Congressional Black Caucus members could be affected in a maximized national redistricting scenario — and in Louisiana, Republicans opted to eliminate one Black-majority district rather than both, leaving Reps. Cleo Fields and Troy Carter in place for now.
