Turkey Moves to Reopen Greek Orthodox Seminary Closed Since 1971

The Ecumenical Patriarchate in Istanbul announced that the Halki Seminary, shuttered by Turkey more than fifty years ago, is expected to reopen in September, according to Bloomberg Politics, citing the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet. The United States and the European Union have repeatedly called for the seminary's reopening as a condition of improved ties with Ankara.
