CBC Chair Yvette Clarke said as many as 19 of the caucus's 58 members could be affected by redistricting in a worst-case scenario following the Supreme Court's ruling narrowing Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, according to NBC News. Said NAACP President Derrick Thompson: "We are witnessing Southern legislators across the former Confederacy approach this racialized gerrymandering process in a way in which we thought we had gotten beyond."
