Supreme Court Limits Section 2 VRA in Louisiana Redistricting Case

The Supreme Court ruled that Louisiana's addition of a second majority-Black congressional district was an unconstitutional racial gerrymander, limiting the reach of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, according to The Hill. Said Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.): "The Supreme Court sent the country backwards in time." The decision was 6-3 along ideological lines.
