Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-N.J.) introduced legislation that would permanently codify the right of members of Congress to conduct oversight of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Department of Homeland Security, according to The Hill. The bill comes one year after McIver was involved in a scuffle at a New Jersey ICE detention facility that resulted in criminal charges against her.
