House Democrats urge Trump to release $14B Taiwan arms sale

Senior House Democrats on national security committees called on President Trump to approve the long-delayed $14 billion arms sale to Taiwan before his planned meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, according to The Hill. Said the lawmakers in a letter: "Delays of Congressionally approved arms sales to Taiwan undercut the maintenance of effective cross-Strait deterrence, and even the possibility" of preventing conflict.
